How the count works

Glasses: glasses = bottle mL ÷ pour mL. One US fluid ounce is 29.57 mL, so a 5 oz pour is 148 mL and a 750 mL bottle holds 25.4 fl oz.

Standard drinks:mL × ABV × 0.789 g/mL ÷ grams per standard drink. A US standard drink is 14 g of pure alcohol (NIAAA); other countries use different sizes, so the same glass counts differently in the UK or Australia.

Light wines such as Moscato d'Asti can be 5–9% ABV; fortified wines such as port and sherry are often 15–20%, which is why they are served in smaller pours.
